Missoula Urban Demonstration Project

Lots of cool stuff going on Missoula, MT, and we were delighted to find out about and interview Ann and Yvonne at the Missoula Urban Demonstration Project.  Along with yearly DIY classes for composting, gardening, canning, fencing, rain barrels, beer brewing, car repair, blacksmithing, and raising chickens, MUD also provides a tool library which allows residents to borrow tools for a reasonable amount of time to finish projects at home.  I mean, do all of us really need a fifty foot ladder, roto-tiller, or chainsaw year round?  They also provide a truck share which is really affordable.  It’s great projects like these that support and engage their local community in a powerful way.
